Police: Intoxicated Bristol, TN man brought gun to Johnson City rehab center
A Bristol, Tennessee man will be arraigned in Sessions Court Friday after police said he brought a gun into a Johnson City rehab center earlier this week.
Michael D. Tipton, 51, is charged with one count of felony reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm while under the influence, according to a JCPD report issued Thursday.
Officers said Tipton fled the scene, NHC Healthcare at 3209 Bristol Highway, prior to their arrival. The victim told investigators that Tipton was intoxicated and brandished a firearm that had been stuck in his waistband.
He was later found in Bristol and taken into custody. He is being held in the Washington County, Tennessee Detention Center under an $11,000 bond.
