THP investigating deadly crash in Washington County
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. —
Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a deadly crash out of Washington County.
According to officials, the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 11E and Stockyard Road in Telford just before 11:00 p.m. on Friday.
They say 19-year-old Billy Baker Jr. was driving a 1995 Jeep down Stockyard Road and ran a stop sign.
According to the crash report, Baker ran into the path of a 2016 Nissan, and the Nissan crashed into the drive's side of Jeep.
Police say 18-year-old Sierra Rollins of Limestone was a passenger in the Jeep and was ejected from the car during the crash. Police say she was not wearing a seat belt and died in the crash.
Both drivers were also injured in the crash, as well as another passenger traveling in the Jeep.
Police say charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
