{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}UVA Wise hosted the Virginia High School Football All-Star game Saturday.WISE COUNTY, Va. -

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}This is the first year the game has been played in Wise. The event brought hundreds of players, families and fans to the town.

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}The extra tourism created new customers for local businesses.

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}"We were out of cups when you came in, so we had to run and get cups and run and get milk,” Mountain Grounds Coffee owner Devin Adkins said. “We went through 10 gallons of milk yesterday and we've already went through about 4 today."

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}Adkins said the game brought so much business to his coffee shop he sold out his stock.

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}"We've had a lot of people from out of town, a lot of people saying they were staying at the inn,” Adkins said.

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}The Inn at Wise housed the teams for the weekend, bringing in needed holiday revenue.

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}"We're probably going to run, on the weekends in December, somewhere around 30 to 40 percent occupancy,” assistant manager Kim Mullins said. “This has put us at 100 percent."

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}The inn filled all of its 49 rooms.

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}"It's helped the other - the local businesses – too,” Mullins said. “We've sent these people shopping across the street to the new store and the coffee shop. So it's been good."

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}Not every business was flooded though. Workers at the El Dorado Grill said they only saw a slight boost in sales.

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}"Business has been pretty steady,” manager Jonathan Lomeli said. “It's a new restaurant, but we do hope to get more business as we go."

{p style="margin-bottom:.0001pt; margin:0in 0in 8pt"}Every business, however, hoped for the event to return next year.
