Pair caught dumpster diving in Bristol VA jailed on drug charges
Two women caught rummaging through a dumpster behind an electronics store in Bristol, Virginia by a sheriff's deputy were arrested on drug charges.
Amy Helen Cook, 43, of Bristol, and Sarah Beth Black, 24, of Abingdon, face a total of five drug-related charges, according to a report from Washington County VA Sheriff Fred Newman.
The deputy was conducting a security check behind Best Buy in the Highlands Shopping Center when the the pair was spotted. The agency's K-9 officer was brought in and alerted deputies to the possibility of drug in the women's vehicle, the report said. A subsequent search led to the discovery of meth, multiple baggies, scales, smoking devices and needles.
