Plan to add tolls to I-81 dead
Virginia lawmakers have rejected a plan to add tolls to Interstate 81.
The tolls would've paid for two billion dollars in upgrades.
Upgrades would've gone toward improving safety and traffic flow.
Governor Ralph Northam tentatively backed a plan to charge $50 for trucks and $25 for cars to use the interstate.
Now, lawmakers said they want more time to study funding sources.
One idea that's been floated is increasing the gas tax in Virginia.
