UPDATE: Deskins gets 15 years for robbing Honaker pharmacy
A man already convicted of robbery charges in Eastern Virginia has received a 15-year sentence in Russell County for robbing a Honaker pharmacy.
James Steele Deskins, Jr., 38, of Henrico County will serve a combined 28 years in prison following the sentence in Circuit Court in Lebanon on Wednesday.
Deskins pointed a pistol at workers at New Garden Pharmacy in October 2016 and demanded narcotics, according to the report from Commonwealth's Attorney Brian Patton. He was arrested after the drugstore staff were able to give police detailed information about the suspect and his getaway vehicle.
Deskins was living with family members in Honaker at the time of the incident. Henrico police told News 5 that Deskins went on a armed robbery spree a month after the Russell County case.
