2nd strongest east Tennessee earthquake this morning (12-12-18)

A 4.4 earthquake hit about 50 miles southwest of Knoxville early Wednesday morning. Viewers in the Tri-Cities region report feeling it.

A second quake of 3.3 hit shortly after in the same area.

The 4.4 quake northwest of Athens, TN is the 2nd largest earthquake in east Tennessee in the USGS database. The largest was near Maryville (4.7 in 1973).
