The StormTrack 5 Weather Team is monitoring the potential of heavy rain and flooding for Tuesday Night - Friday of this week (2/19/2019-2/22/2019). The heaviest looks to come on Tuesday night into Wednesday.
As high pressure sits off the southeast coast, the upper level flow of the atmosphere will become supportive of rounds of rain, starting Tuesday night and lasting through Saturday.
Rainfall totals of 2-4" across the region look likely with higher totals in some spots. This is around the same amount that we often receive int he entire month of February!
Due to the saturated soil, the potential for flooding is elevated. Late into the week, river flooding could also become a concern.
Before the rain moves in, it's a good idea to check the storm drains near your home and your gutters to make sure they are clear of debris such as leaves, twigs, etc.
Stay with the StormTrack 5 Weather Team as we continue to monitor this flooding threat.
