Periods of rain, snow, and a wintry mix are expected this weekend. There will be dry periods as well.
Some rain and snow showers are expected in many areas Saturday morning, before a break in the precipitation Saturday afternoon.
Since the air will only be marginally cold enough for snow at times in the Tri-Cities, impacts should be brief and minimal overall. Travel conditions will be worse in the mountains.
Another round of precipitation arrives Saturday evening and lasts into Sunday. It will be a cold rain in the Tri-Cities, but temperatures will be cold enough for ice and snow north and east (especially near and east of the Blue Ridge).
